April Highlights at IAA

It’s been a productive month at Interface Analysis Associates (IAA), filled with impactful studies, industry milestones, and thought leadership across the human factors landscape.

Study Highlights

  • We conducted a formative study of a dry powder inhaler with teen users—both independently and in parent-teen dyads.
  • Simultaneously, we ran a formative study of a prefilled syringe designed for intramuscular injection.
  • While those were underway, we continued progress on a comparative use human factors (CUHF) study of a GLP-1 drug, supporting a generic ANDA submission.

Additional Project Milestones

  • Developed a new Instructions for Use (IFU)
  • Evaluated a next-generation autoinjector
  • Finalized a human factors validation protocol

FDA Approval Highlights

Special congratulations to argenx on receiving FDA approval of their prefilled syringe for the treatment of gMG and CIDP. This achievement reflects not only the dedication of the development team, but also the valuable contributions of the many study participants who took part in sessions across the country.

Congratulations to Satsuma Pharmaceuticals on receiving FDA approval for Atzumi, their nasal powder for the acute treatment of migraine.

Both approvals underscore the impact of innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered research.

Thought Leadership

Our Director & Founder, Dr. Anthony D. Andre, presented at the Healthcare Human Factors Symposium in Toronto. Dr. Andre participated in two expert panels, offering insights on FDA validation practices and cross-industry trends in medical device and pharmaceutical development.
